Ky State Fair opens today!

On the Midway

On the Midway

The Kentucky State Fair starts TODAY! Get your “Midway on”,  and have some “Pork Butt on a stick!”

Ahh,  the sweet smell of the hot pavement, the never ending eye candy, or well, eye popping fashions , are sure to delight. I think Freddie Farm Bureau is STILL in front of Freedom Hall, scaring children by the hundreds. Just teasing, but I wonder if he will have a tribute to Pitino at the front doors…
As we make our way through the Fair Calendars, get the sitter for this evening: Peter Frampton is here! Whoo hoo, we will have many update through today, so check back with us.

We had not been to the fair since before I could drive , and last summer, we took the plunge. Going right after school was the perfect choice in the middle of the week. There were no lines for the rides, the midway was still clean, albeit hotter than Hades.
We saw a few amazing sites, including the 2 sizes of corndogs pictured below, no caption necessary.

Large or XXL?

Large or XXL?

Of course we love all of the fair food, and this year, we can actually partake in most of it! The cheese fries to funnel cakes, put your diet cards away and enjoy all we have to offer where mobile food goods are concerned!

Onto the USDA Prime Choice from yours truly, watch for the Fair List and Weekend picks on the next post!

Cheers!

~ Cyndy
