Run for the Roses: The Kentucky Derby and the Business of Horse Racing, About the Show, Show Information, Show Description, Horse Racing, Business, Sports – CNBC.com

The heat is on, from ticket brokers to hat designers, no rest for the wicked! Check right here each day for all of your Derby week updates and needs, we will share a few not so covered items that you may not hear about in regular local broadcasts.
Program note: tomorrow- watch the CW channel 7 as we air a very special week of Derby planning, events and more. Yours truly will appear @ 10am with details on the following two great causes, both driven by one of Louisville’s greats:
Mr. Pat Day.

Big Day in the Bluegrass

We are recapping the Friday race card at Keeneland and looking forward to a BIG day for the Bluegrass Stakes.
Trainer Bill Mott looked fine as he had a few wins- and jock Kent Desormeuax had 4 big ones! Julian Leparoux was also in the money for at least 5 races- we will watch him on TERRAIN and go for a place shot.
We’ll take that combo , and as I touted on Facebook earlier this week, HOLD ME BACK is my call. I have heard a few rumblings about Theregoesjojo, so maybe we’ll put that in for the show horse.

T – 22 days and counting…

Just 22 days until the Kentucky Oaks and Derby Day!

We are watching everything from horses to hats, because we all know the real competition happens in the stands! With Easter fashion and the races and events on the horizon, the hunt is not just for Easter eggs, but the perfect Hat and Ticket for the big weekend.
